Skaters must sign in for each session before getting on the ice. Freestyle sessions are for figure skaters only, level Freeskate 3 and above.

Hello All,

I am happy to say we will be able to reopen 6/29/20 at 50% capacity. Please note we will only be offering limited hours of operation, programming and rentals to start off. Below are a list of strict guidelines and policies that will be instituted. It is important to check your emails and our website/social media regularly for updates on policies and procedures and schedules.



  • 15 skater limit (including coaches)

  • Schedules and online registration will be posted on a weekly basis

  • Skaters/Coaches allowed in 15 mins before session and must leave within 15 mins after session has ended

  • Parents and guardians are strongly encouraged to wait outside of facility during session

  • One parent or guardian per student in facility IF NEEDED

  • Get ready in designated areas

  • Come prepared and dressed minus skates

  • Bags and Personal items are not to be left unattended in the facility, we are NOT responsible for lost or stolen items 

  • Benches and mats will be set up outside for skaters and coaches to put on skates

  • All skaters must register and pay online, first come, first serve policy

  • Wristbands given

  • No walk-ins allowed

  • Temperature check upon entering the facility

  • Coaches must register and pay online, first come, first serve policy

  • Coaches must provide an updated copy of their insurance and safe sport before coming to teach at the facility. E-mail with documents

  • Designated coaching areas posted in ice rink to be strictly adhered to

  • 6 feet social distancing to be strictly adhered to while skating or coaching

  • Participants must wear face coverings, except when on the ice

  • Coaches must wear face coverings on and off the ice

  • Strongly recommended to bring own hand sanitizer and tissues

  • No personal items will be allowed on the ice



Facility Cleaning Procedures and Safety Procedures    

  • Hand sanitizing stations will be set up around the facility  

  • Daily deep cleaning will be done multiple times around the facility especially in common areas 

  • Reisterstown Sportsplex has cleaned and repainted high traffic areas and bathrooms as a measure of sanitation 

  • We have ordered and will continue to order extra antibacterial soap for our bathrooms

  • All employee workstations will be sanitized regularly  

  • Sneeze guards will be implemented at all POS and skate rental counter  

  • PPE provided for employees

  • Bathrooms will be sectioned off for every other urinal/stall/sink to help promote social distancing   

  • Signage clearly displayed around the facility to remind customers of sanitation guidelines and social distancing

  • Employees will be briefed and trained on safety measures prior to reopening  

  • Recommend customers and employees to stay home if they are showing symptoms of illness

  • Disinfect door handles hourly

  • Cleaning check list to be completed throughout the day

  • Temperature check required upon entering facility

  • We will not be offering lost and found at this time. Anything left in facility will be discarded at the end of the day.


  • Keep an eye out at ALL TIMES for other skater’s, be aware of your surroundings and others as well.

  • Skaters, coaches and parents are expected to show courtesy and good sportsmanship to others.

  • A skater experiencing problems with another skaters ice etiquette should approach the management for help.

  • A skater in their program has the right of way, please be courteous and watch out for that skater.

  • The ice is for practice, not socialization. Standing in the corners is to be particularly avoided. Please leave the ice if you wish to socialize or take a break.

  • Music is played on a first come, first serve basis. Program music will be played in the order it’s requested. A coach may request that the program of a skater taking a private lesson be placed at the front of the line.

  • Requests by coaches will alternate with tapes already in line (ex. coach, skater, coach, skater..). Other music must be put at the end of the line.

  • Programs should not be restarted except during a private lesson. A skater wishing to restart their program will have to put their music at the end of the line.

  • Have fellow skaters play your music for you if you cannot do so yourself.

  • Please do not get on the ice until the Olympia doors have been shut.

  • Swearing, name calling, along with other derogatory remarks are prohibited and could result in the ejections of skaters from the ice for the duration of the session.

  • No one is allowed on the ice without skates on!

  • Skaters, parents and visitors are not allowed in the hockey boxes.

  • You MUST sign-in at the front counter for each session you skate on.

  • You may not skate half way through 2 different sessions unless you are in a lesson and it has been approved ahead of time by Kirsten West, Skating Director. Please follow our freestyle schedule appropriately.

  • It is the coach’s responsibility to educate their skaters on the ethics and etiquette of freestyle sessions at Reisterstown Sportsplex!

  • The staff of Reisterstown Sportsplex will enforce these basic rules during all freestyle sessions. All coaches are also expected to inform their students of these rules and enforce these rules when on the ice. The management reserves the right to take disciplinary action if deemed necessary against any skater, coach or parent. Some of the actions that could be taken include, but are not limited to, verbal warnings, time-outs from the ice, or even suspension from the rink.
