Basic 4

Must have passed Basic 3 to enroll

Basic Skills teaches the FUNdamentals of ice skating and provides the best foundation for figure skating, hockey and speed skating. Six progressive levels introduce forward and backward skating, stops, edges, crossovers and turns. Upon completion of the Basic Skills 1-6 levels, skaters will be able to confidently advance to more specialized areas of skating. All classes will be well-structured with the focus on proper skill development taught in a positive, FUN and social environment. Skaters will progress at their own rate and advance after skill mastery is demonstrated.

  • Classes are 30 minutes in length with a 30-minute practice time.

  • PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED--We will not register you on the spot-Most classes are FULL-If you are not on our list, you will not be able to participate in classes.

  • No games or unfavorable/unsafe behavior will be allowed during practice time. Skaters will be asked to leave the ice upon unsafe behavior.

  • Snowplow Sam 1/2 skaters are encouraged to stay near the wall for their first few practice times. Parents are not allowed on the ice in skates or on their shoes. The practice area will have a supervisor overseeing the space but is NOT a formal lesson area.

  • No companion skaters/parents or siblings (not enrolled in lessons) are allowed on ice-NO EXCEPTIONS

  • All skaters are required to be members of Learn to Skate USA to participate in our lessons. Please make sure to register them within the first week of starting classes. (info and link for registration on our website under the Learn to Skate information- www.rtownsports.com )

  • Make up class date will be posted at check-in table around week 5 or 6. Please sign your skater up to attend.

  • Parents should not leave their child at lessons unattended. A parent or guardian should be on site, in the building at all times.
